CS 59200: AI Thought Partners

Graduate seminar, Purdue University, Department of Computer Science, 2026

A new graduate seminar at Purdue on AI systems that learn and think with people rather than instead of them. We will read across machine learning, cognitive science, and HCI to map the still-young field of AI thought partners: how we measure shared structure between human and AI minds, how we design interactive systems that leverage that structure, and how partnership fails (overreliance, persuasion, de-skilling, collective dysfunction).

Open to graduate students in CS and related disciplines. Auditing welcome with the instructor’s permission.
